HOLIDAY BREADS: EASTER

VÖRT LIMPA RYE

flour, water, rye flour, levain, salt, rye malt extract, yeast; bitter orange, sweet orange, fennel, anise

This is a delicious Swedish style rye that is somewhat dense but still pretty soft, similar to a typical caraway rye. It is amazing with sliced ham, or as a base for open-face sandwiches, Scandinavian style.

KULICH

Flour, water, milk, eggs, sugar, butter, salt; golden raisins, sliced almonds, candied orange peel, dark rum

An ultra-soft, sweet saffron Russian Easter bread, with rum-soaked golden raisins and almonds. Kind of like a Russian Pannetone, only a little lighter.

HOT CROSS BUNS

Soft dark rolls with currants and spices. These buns are traditionally eaten on Good Friday to mark the end of Lent, but they’re so tasty you could pretty much want to eat them all the time.

CHOCOLATE BUN-NIES

Soft and sweet chocolate buns chock full of dark Belgian chocolate chips.
